Solve common problems with your GALAGA Pocket Player Pro, including power, screen, and audio issues. Step-by-step diagnosis guide.
Quick Answer
Most GALAGA Pocket Player Pro issues can be fixed with simple resets, charging checks, or button combinations. Follow the diagnosis steps below.
Before You Start: What the GALAGA Pocket Player Pro Can and Can’t Do
The GALAGA Pocket Player Pro is a dedicated handheld that plays one classic arcade title: GALAGA. It does not have a touchscreen, Wi-Fi, or a replaceable battery. Understanding these limits helps avoid false troubleshooting.
If your issue involves a blank screen, no sound, or unresponsive controls, the steps below cover the most common fixes. For hardware damage (cracked screen, broken buttons), contact My Arcade support.
Diagnosis Steps
- Symptom: Device won’t turn on: Check the battery compartment. Ensure the included AAA batteries are installed correctly (+ and - ends aligned). If they are, try a fresh set of alkaline AAA batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries. If new batteries don’t work, proceed to the next step.
- Symptom: Screen is blank or flickering: Press and hold the POWER button for 10 seconds to force a hard reset. If the screen remains blank, remove the batteries for 30 seconds, reinsert them, and try again. If the screen still flickers or stays dark, the LCD may be damaged—stop and contact support.
- Symptom: No sound or distorted audio: Check the volume slider on the side of the unit. Move it up and down a few times to clear any dust. If sound is still absent or distorted, try a different pair of wired headphones (3.5mm jack). If headphones work but the built-in speaker doesn’t, the speaker may be faulty—stop and contact support.
